Preparing Payroll Records

1. The social security tax was established on August 14th, 1935. The purpose of establishing Social Security tax was to give retirement benefits to the primary worker of a family, mainly meaning the "man of the house", during the Great Depression, and the primary worker's family was not added onto the social security tax until 1939 along with survivors.

2. Since its inception, the total social security payments that have been made out to beneficiaries is $594.5 billion as of 2007.

3. Social Security should not be paid to those who do not wish to work, because that is taking advantage of something that should be going to someone else who deserves it. If they want money so bad then today's people need to get off their butts and actually earn it.
